Critical Care Medicine
Pediatric Critical Care Medicine provides expert, multidisciplinary care for a broad spectrum of conditions impact infants, children and teenagers within the 黑料网 Children鈥檚 Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU).聽 Providers deploy a wide-variety of treatments and life support functions such as cardiac ECMO.聽 In addition to superior patient care, the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is one of the premier multidisciplinary training programs in the Southeast. Our faculty are leaders throughout Pediatrics and 黑料网 Health, including the Clinical Skills and Patient Simulation Center, the Institute for Healthcare Quality Improvement, TeamSTEPPS鈩�, and Pediatric Schwartz Center Rounds.

Children鈥檚 CLABSI Reduction Wins 2024 Carolina Quality Award
We are thrilled to announce that the Children鈥檚 CLABSI Reduction team won an award at the Quality Expo, October 24, 2024. The poster received the Carolina Quality award for 鈥淭he project submission that best exemplifies the Carolina Quality Values.鈥� The Initiative to reduce CLABSI across 黑料网 Children鈥檚 resulted in a 54% decrease in CLABSI in FY24 compared to FY23 鈥� a reduction in 20 CLABSIs.

Welcome New Clinical Provider: Jennifer Talbot, MSN, RN, CPNP-AC/PC, CPN
Jennifer Talbot, MSN, RN, CPNP-AC/PC, CPN, joined the Pediatric Division of Critical Care Medicine on October 14, 2024. Jennifer received her BSN from University of Maryland in 2008 and earned her MSN as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner 鈥� Acute Care in May 2015. Subsequently, Jennifer completed a post-master鈥檚 certification in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner 鈥� Primary Care at the 黑料网 School of Nursing. Since 2018, Jennifer has been working as a bedside Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at 黑料网 Children’s Hospital. Congratulation Jennifer!
