Dr. Otey created a course on Human Pathophysiology for the new PharmD curriculum, which rolled out in 2016. This is the second year that she has taught in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy, which is the top ranked Pharmacy program in the country.

Congratulations to Jim Davison for successfully defending his dissertation entitled "Identification of transcriptional regulatory mechanisms mediating host responses to microbiota in the intestinal epithelium". Jim is in the lab of Dr. John Rawls.

CONGRATULATIONS to Hung-Ching Hsia for successfully defending her dissertation entitled "Roles and Regulation of STAT3 in Innate Immunity". Hung-Ching is in the lab of Dr. Al Baldwin.

Scientists at the ºÚÁÏÍø have identified and isolated a protein that could play a vital role in regulating proper airway function. When that protein is low in volume or missing altogether, it can cause airway hyper-reactivity in asthma.
