Carol Otey, Ph.D., was chosen as the “2017 PY1 Instructor of the Year” by the PharmD students

Dr. Otey created a course on Human Pathophysiology for the new PharmD curriculum, which rolled out in 2016. This is the second year that she has taught in the Eshelman School of Pharmacy, which is the top ranked Pharmacy program in the country.

ºÚÁÏÍø researchers find new potential route to treat asthma

Scientists at the ºÚÁÏÍø have identified and isolated a protein that could play a vital role in regulating proper airway function. When that protein is low in volume or missing altogether, it can cause airway hyper-reactivity in asthma.
