            <\/h4>                            <p>ºÚÁÏÍø Urology was ranked 28th nationally and 14th among public universities in NIH research funding for 2024, according to the latest Blue Ridge This award demonstrates ºÚÁÏÍø\u2019s commitment to achieving all six of the Institute of Medicine aims \u2013 safety, patient-centeredness, effectiveness, efficiency, timeliness, and equity.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>In 2013, the American College of Surgeons\u2019 National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS NSQIP) <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/news.unchealthcare.org\/empnews\/2013\/oct-10\/unc-hospitals-again-receives-national-recognition-for-top-patient-outcomes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recognized ºÚÁÏÍø as one of 37<\/a> (out of a total of greater than 500 ACS NSQIP participating hospitals\u2014the only hospital in this group from North Carolina)\u2014that have achieved Meritorious outcomes for surgical patient care. ºÚÁÏÍø is one of only four major academic medical centers recognized this year, and one of only 10 hospitals in the country to achieve this Meritorious designation for the past two years. The ºÚÁÏÍø Urology-specific outcomes were rated \u201cexemplary\u201d\u2014the highest designation\u2014in morbidity, pneumonia, renal failure and surgical site infection rates. As a participant in ACS NSQIP, ºÚÁÏÍø is required to track the outcomes of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures and collect data that directs efforts to improve patient safety and surgical quality. ACS NSQIP is the only nationally validated quality improvement program that measures and enhances the care of surgical patients. This program measures the actual surgical results 30 days postoperatively as well as risk-adjusted patient characteristics to compensate for differences in patient populations and acuity levels.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>In 2013, for the second time in the past three years, ºÚÁÏÍø Hospitals received the #1 ranking in patient-centeredness in the national University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) Quality and Accountability Scorecard. This achievement is based on a composite ranking of our recent scores on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) Survey<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li><a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/news.unchealthcare.org\/som-vital-signs\/2010\/vital-signs-june-2-2010\/unc-hospitals-recognized-for-community-value\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ºÚÁÏÍø Hospital was awarded a top 100 ranking by Cleverly and Associates in its annual Community Value Index (CVI) Leadership Award<\/a>. It was only one of four North Carolina hospitals named to the list and the only one from the Triangle. The CVI was created to provide an assessment of a hospital\u2019s performance in four areas: financial strength and reinvestment, cost of care, pricing, and quality of care. The CVI is targeted to show that hospitals with low costs and charges can provide a high quality of patient care and operate with a high degree of community value.<\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>The Raleigh News &amp; Observer has reported on how the food in our hospital stands out in comparison to other hospitals across the
