We are pleased to announce that Dr. Luigi Pascarella <\/strong>will be assuming the role of Clerkship Director<\/strong> effective October 1, 2018. Dr. Pascarella is an Assistant Professor and clinician educator in the Division of Vascular Surgery.\u00a0 He currently serves as our MS4 Course Director, is a Faculty Advisor to the Surgery Interest Group, and serves on the Surgery Education Committee.\u00a0 In addition, he is a valued member on several key committees to advance our School of Medicine educational mission, including the LCME Team, the Individualization Phase Committee, and the Diversity Council.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are pleased to announce that Dr. Lauren Raff<\/strong> will assume the role of Associate Clerkship Director<\/strong>.\u00a0 Dr. Raff is an Assistant Professor and clinician educator in the Division of General and Acute Care Surgery.\u00a0 Dr. Raff has a strong reputation in the department for being a skilled clinician and dedicated teacher who is committed to educating future generations.\u00a0 We feel that our students will benefit tremendously with her in this new leadership role.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We would like to thank Dr. Anthony Charles<\/strong> for his service in the role of Clerkship Director<\/strong> since 2011.\u00a0 He has advanced our educational mission through his unparalleled commitment to our student learners.\u00a0 In addition, he has been a leader in our School of Medicine curriculum redesign and has been a key player in developing innovative teaching materials and technologies to create a comprehensive and competitive learning environment.\u00a0 We are delighted to report that he has chosen to remain in the program as an Associate Clerkship Director<\/strong> to provide ongoing guidance and support to our Clerkship leadership team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" ºÚÁÏÍø Department of Surgery announces new appointments for Clerkship Program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":83776,"featured_media":3548,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"layout":"","cellInformation":"","apiCallInformation":"","footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[22,28],"featured-item":[],"class_list":["post-7044","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-22","tag-news","odd"],"pp_force_visibility":null,"pp_subpost_visibility":null,"pp_inherited_force_visibility":null,"pp_inherited_subpost_visibility":null,"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n![\"Dr.](\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/surgery\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/854\/2018\/10\/TRM-CUT-RaffLauren-171120-200-150x225.jpg\")
