Respondus Lockdown Browser limits a device’s features and options to allow for someone to take a secure exams in Canvas on virtually any laptop or iPad. Instructors will advise students on if this software is needed for assessments in their classes.<\/p>\n
Note that the point of this software is to disallow common computer activities to ensure exam security. As such, it requires as few programs to be running on the computer as possible and will not run properly when certain types of software (especially webcam enhancements, software with screen capture capabilities, software that can pop up over other windows on your screen such as gaming overlays, and software that has the ability to alter functions of the keyboard or other controls) is running. We recommend having a dedicated up-to-date device for your assessments that has these disabled if you need to use this software regularly.<\/p>\n
