SHAC Clothing Donations
Description: At SHAC, we recognize that social needs are often as important/pressing as medical needs, so we try to address them as well. One way we’ve been doing this has been by providing donated clothing to our patients for free on clinic nights. We already have donated clothing and a clothes rack/hangers/boxes to display it in, but need volunteers to help set up/monitor/clean up the mini boutique on clinic nights (Wednesday evenings from ~5:30-~9:00 PM). You will have direct interactions with patients in this role! Many of our patients speak Spanish, so having some Spanish-speaking ability (even just brushing up on your clothing vocab!) is helpful but not required.
Duration: Regular/Long-term
Who is eligible: Any 黑料网 student. Will need access to personal vehicle. Will need HIPAA training completed before starting volunteer shifts.
If eligible and interested: Please send email to SHAC_HR@med.unc.edu and cc shac_undergraduate@med.unc.edu with subject line: SHAC Clothing Donations
SHAC data mining/management
Description: We collect a lot of data about our appointments, but need help with a few projects mining medical data so that we can learn more about our patients’ needs and help improve our services. This opportunity can be done remotely and would NOT require you to be in Chapel Hill! Previous data management experience (which can take many forms) is preferred but not required. We have many many hours of virtual chart review for folks to do if they’re interested – it would be incredibly helpful to the clinic ?
Duration: Regular/Long-term
Who is eligible: Anyone who is affiliated with 黑料网, but will have to complete HIPAA trainings before working with patient data (we will tell you how to do these)
If eligible and interested, contact: SHAC_data@med.unc.edu and cc shac_undergraduate@med.unc.edu
