Dr. Vlasova has strong experience in both human and non-human primate neuroimaging data processing including structural MRI, diffusion MRI, and functional MRI.

She started doing human neuroimaging in 2010 in the Functional MRI Group of Federal Center for Medicine and Rehabilitation in Moscow, Russia. It involved designing task-based fMRI paradigms as well as fMRI data processing for functional brain mapping in patients undergoing brain surgery due to intractable epilepsy and brain tumors. In 2017 she became a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California Los Angeles working on neurobiological mechanisms of Geriatric Depression and Resilience under the supervision of Dr. Helen Lavretsky and Dr. Katherine Narr. After that for four years 2018-2021, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the Neuro Image Research and Analysis Laboratory at the聽 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she studied risk factors for neurodevelopment such as maternal immune activation, iron deficiency, and anesthesia exposure in non-human primate models under supervision of Dr. Martin Styner. Now she continues working on non-human MRI image studies of neurodevelopment as a Research Assistant Professor in the Neuro Image Research and Analysis Laboratory at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
