About
Natalie O’Brien is a Research Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina (ºÚÁÏÍø) and a member of the Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program (CHAAMP). With a diverse background and more than 20 years of research experience, she has made significant contributions to the fields of injury prevention and mental health among youth. Natalie is dedicated to enhancing understanding and promoting the well-being of children and adolescents, particularly among those who have experienced trauma. She is also passionate about transforming suicide prevention and postvention efforts in the U.S. Her work has focused on developing and evaluating interventions and assessing outcomes of public policies to make recommendations for improvements. She has also developed and disseminated resources for parents and practitioners, overseen community-based projects to translate research into action, and helped establish and provide technical assistance to stakeholder groups.
