We are truly thrilled to have recruited Dr. Hunt-Harrison back to 黑料网 to serve as the Director of the new program in Mental Health Equity.聽 Dr. Hunt-Harrison is an extremely skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who has a strong commitment to mental health equity and a deep understanding of the complex equity issues in psychiatry and behavioral health in North Carolina.聽 Dr. Hunt-Harrison will be collaborating broadly across the department to develop this new program and work in conjunctions with Drs. Nate Thomas, Kim Brownley, Tamara Baker, Christina Cruz and Katy Sims and others to align efforts focused on DEI and health disparities with mental health equity.
A native of North Carolina, Dr. Hunt-Harrison completed her undergraduate education at Winston-Salem State before coming to 黑料网 for Medical School, Residency Training in General Psychiatry and her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship.聽聽 She also completed a Master鈥檚 in Public Health at the 黑料网 Gillings School of Global Public Health, making her a quadruple Tar Heel!
In addition to serving as Director of the new Program on Mental Health Equity, Dr. Hunt Harrison will also serve as one of the Child-Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit attendings, where she will bring her vast experience as an inpatient attending at Central Regional Hospital Child Unit.
Dr. Hunt-Harrison will begin at 黑料网 in mid-April, 2021.
