Sofia Olivares is a Clinical Research Coordinator within CHAAMP at ºÚÁÏÍø Chapel Hill. She currently works on the Social Motivation Study with Drs. Andrea Pelletier-Baldelli and Adam Bryant Miller. She received her B.S. in Cognitive Studies and Creative Writing with a minor in Spanish from Vanderbilt University. During her time as an undergraduate, she worked as a Research Assistant on two studies: a mindfulness intervention for adolescents with high negative affect and a study focusing on theory of mind during CBT for teens.
Sofia’s primary research interests include examining risk and protective factors for youth mental health, especially for those who come from diverse backgrounds and have early threat experiences, with the goal of developing culturally-adaptive prevention and intervention programs. She aims to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and intertwine research with practice.
In her free time, Sofia enjoys hiking and running outdoors. She also loves building puzzles, going on long walks, and exploring new places with friends and family.
