OASIS celebrates its expansion and a new location in Raleigh

黑料网 OASIS celebrated its expansion to Wake County and the opening of a new office on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh on February 18. Local clinicians, physicians, patients and their families had Wake OASIS Shay Dianathe opportunity to learn about early psychosis and treatment at a community symposium titled 鈥淔irst episode psychosis: recognition, early intervention and recovery鈥 at the North Carolina State University鈥檚 McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education. More than 175 people attended the afternoon program; a reception followed at the new clinic.

黑料网 OASIS Wake provides services to adolescents and young adults ages 15-30 who are experiencing their first episodes of early psychosis (first symptoms within the past three years).

Center employees recognized at the annual Department鈥檚 recognition ceremony

Several Center employees received awards at the 2016 Department of Psychiatry Recognition Ceremony on June 1, 2016. Sunny Westerman, coordinator of the puppy development center at 黑料网 PAWS; Jason Wesson, clinical director, Carrboro STEP Clinic: Jeffrey Neer, nurse at the Wake STEP Clinic, and Charles Thayer, tech support analyst, received Star Heels Awards.

Greg Beasley, tech support analyst; Jasper Fleming, business coordinator; Karen Frye, Community Outreach/CTI, and Cathia Ortiz, Chatham Orange ACT, received Five-year Service Awards and Jeffry Neer at Wake STEP Clinic receive a Ten-year Service Award.

NAMI Walk

A small but enthusiastic group of Center employees participated in the 2016 NAMI walk at the Dorothea Dix Campus on May 7. The Center walk raised approximately $1,000 toward NAMI鈥檚 NAMI Walk 2016$150,000 goal.

 

Carolina Club presents “Pasta with a Purpose” Fundraiser

The Carolina Club at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center on the 黑料网-CH Campus will sponsor a pasta dinner fundraiser benefiting both the 黑料网 Center for Excellence in Community Mental Health and the Foundation of Hope on July 26, 2016 from 5:30 -8:00 p.m.

The cost of the meal is: Adults $11.00 plus tax and gratuity; Children $6.00 plus tax and gratuity. The Carolina Club will donate $10 (adult) and $5 (child) for each dinner reservation. Drinks and desserts are available for an additional charge.

Third Annual No Limits Gala will feature motivational speaker Mike Veny

Mark your calendar for November 17 for the Center鈥檚 Third Annual No Limits Gala at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center on the 黑料网-CH Campus. Motivational speaker Mike Veny will be featured.Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Center programs that serve individuals with serious mental illness.
