黑料网 and 14 Triangle Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores Team Together to Build a Challenge Course in 3 Days

The of Chapel Hill and Lowes Home Improvement teamed up with colleagues to build a one-of-a-kind outdoor 鈥淐hallenge Course.鈥� Each day between November 5 and 7, 2013, approximately 50 volunteers from 14 Triangle Lowe’s Home Improvement stores built the unique outdoor space. Activities culminated with an Open House to dedicate the course.
Surfaces found on the Challenge Course are found throughout the state of North Carolina: the course consists of various surface materials such as tiered steps, cobble stone, sand, stamped concrete pavers and mulch. Three paths with varying levels of difficulty allow doctors and therapists to monitor balance, endurance and strength, as well as adaptive and safety techniques for both children and adults.
鈥淓valuating how a patient moves helps to build the confidence they need to transition home,鈥� said Michael Lee, MD, MHA, founding chair of 黑料网 Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. 鈥淭his is a true community effort and we are grateful for Lowe’s generous donation and support.鈥�
