Dr. Patricia Gregory

On Sunday, June 13, 2010, surrounded by family, Patricia Gregory, MD, passed away at 黑料网 Hospitals. She was an assistant professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Ray Lynch and three loving children: Alexandra, Gabriel and Elizabeth; father, Lt. Col. Spruell Gregory, US Army (Retired); sister, Deborah Richards, RN; brother, Milan Gregory, Esq.; nephews, Gregory and Michael Richards.

鈥淒r. Gregory was an outstanding physician scientist, and a national leader working to reduce health disparities,鈥 said Michael Y. Lee, MD, MHA, chair of 黑料网 PM&R. 鈥淪he was one of a limited number of physiatrists engaging in health services research, and was finishing a Masters in Public Health to promote interdisciplinary research. Her passing is a loss to multiple fields of study working to improve access to care.鈥

Dr. Gregory鈥檚 sub-specialties included stroke rehabilitation, geriatric rehabilitation, adult telemedicine and rehabilitation research, which she also mentored to PM&R residents and others.

Additionally, the PM&R Department held a memorial at 黑料网 Memorial Hospital chapel on August 10, 2010 for patients and colleagues of Dr. Gregory. Participants created a tree of life, with memorial notes written on the leaves.

The department renamed its annual Research Day as the Patricia C. Gregory, MD Memorial Lecture in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
