Two Pharmacology professors along with four other ºÚÁÏÍø professors elected Fellows of the AAAS.

Our congratulations to Drs. T. Kendall Harden and Nancy L. Allbritton, who were honored by being elected Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) this year.

T. Kendall Harden, Ph.D., Kenan Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Pharmacology, was selected for research and service in the field of molecular pharmacology, particularly in the study of G proteins and their importance in cell signaling in normal and disease states.

Nancy L. Allbritton, M.D., Ph.D., Chair and Professor of the Joint ºÚÁÏÍø/NC State Department of Biomedical Engineering, the Paul Debreczeny Distinguished Professor of Chemistry,and joint faculty member in the Department of Pharmacology was selected for her invention and implementation of new biomedical research tools as the development of miniaturized devices to enable more accurate disease diagnosis.

Two other ºÚÁÏÍø professors were elected Fellows of the AAAS this year and they are Dr. Karen L. Mohlke and Dr. Rosann A. Farber.

Two other ºÚÁÏÍø professors who were elected Fellows of the AAAS this year are Dr. Dale L. Hutchison and Dr. Nancy L. Thompson

Each year the AAAS council honors members whose “efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished.” A compleete listing of this year’s fellows appeared in the Nov. 28 issue of Science and on the . A certificate and rosette pin will be presented to the newly elected Fellows at the Associations’ Annual Meeting to be held in San Jose, CA, on February 14, 2015.
