Congrats to Pharmacology's Wesley Legant, PhD, and Department of Biomedical Engineering's, Yu Shi, PhD, whose latest paper, "Smart Lattice Light-Sheet Microscopy for Imaging Rare and Complete Cellular Events" made the cover of Nature Methods Feb 20, 2024 issue!

Dr. Schmitz successfully defended his PhD thesis, "Identifying the Neurological Mechanisms Underlying Potential Therapeutic Effects of Psychedelic Compounds" under the guidance of co-PIs Melissa Herman and Bryan Roth on Feb. 2, 2024.

Our very own Jonathan Schisler,聽PhD, and Leon Coleman, MD, PhD, along with the associate director of the Neuroscience Center, Ben Philpot, PhD, were awarded a five-year $675,000 grant to lead a summer undergraduate experience program.

The wearable patch, called the Spatiotemporal On-Demand Patch (SOP), can receive commands wirelessly from a smartphone or computer to schedule and trigger the release of drugs from individual microneedles.

The article highlights their work using the protein-structure-prediction tool AlphaFold to identify potential new receptor ligands.
