Associate Professor

Dr. Gentzsch received her Ph.D. from the University of Regensburg, Germany and started her CF research career under the tutelage of  Dr. John Riordan at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ. From there, she moved to ºÚÁÏÍø and now directs the CF RTCC Molecular/Functional Measurement Core, and the CFF RDP CFTR Functional Analysis Core. She is also an Associate Professor of Pediatric Pulmonology, an Adjunct Associate Professor of Cell Biology and Physiology, and member of the Marsico Lung Institute (MLI) and the Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility (CEHS). She is also the current president of the ºÚÁÏÍø SOM Association for Professional Women In Medical Sciences (APWIMS).

Martina has a deep passion for dogs and horses, finding joy in nature through activities like hiking, horseback riding, and gardening. She’s also an enthusiastic barrel racing fan who loves to create memorable moments around bonfires. In her downtime, you’ll often find her watching German movies or embarking on exciting journeys exploring the diverse landscapes of Europe.
