You will be training at one of the following five sites: NC Children\u2019s Hospital at 黑料网 Chapel Hill, Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, WakeMed in Raleigh or Novant in Charlotte\u00a0 or Wilmington. Course information and details can be found in Canvas.<\/p>\n<p>The varied activities of this rotation have been designed to allow you to meet these learning objectives of the block in a meaningful and enjoyable way. We, as a faculty, are committed to helping you reach these goals to the best of our ability. To be successful, however, students must organize their time to provide an appropriate balance between clinical activities and independent learning through reading and study. Other essentials are a cooperative, enthusiastic and compassionate attitude; responsibility; a demonstrated interest in patient care; intellectual motivation; and a systematic, organized approach to clinical problems.<\/p>\n<h2>Individualization Phase<\/h2>\n<p>The Individualization Phase is the third and final phase of medical school education. During these 14 months, students will develop individual core clinical interests and skills with a focus on future career plans. Student have many options to individualize their learning experience based on their Individualized Learning Plan, their career goal interests and their unique needs for clinical skill development.<\/p>\n<p>The various rotations within Pediatrics have been designed to allow you to explore and finalize your career interests and clinical skill sets required for residency.<\/p>\n<h2>Visiting Students<\/h2>\n<p>黑料网 Pediatrics accepts applications for visiting rotations through VSAS\/VSLO. We begin accepting applications mid April.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"william_mills@med.unc.edu\">William Mills, MD<\/a><br \/>\nDirector, Medical Student Education in Pediatrics<\/p>\n<p>Medical Student Coordinator<\/p>\n<h2>Shadowing<\/h2>\n<p><strong>SHADOWING HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Shadowing for 黑料网 Medical Students is approved through the School of Medicine. You can find information <a href=\"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/md\/policies\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Shadowing for <strong>current 黑料网 students <\/strong>is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>You will need to complete all the requirements on the Volunteer Services website under shadowing. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uncmedicalcenter.org\/uncmc\/support\/volunteer-services\/shadowing\/\">Website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is the student&#8217;s responsibility to find a physician to shadow. When all the pieces are in place email the Medical Student Coordinator the name of the physician, their email, their specialty, and the date(s) you will be shadowing (you are allowed to shadow a total of 8 days per year). They will then request your shadow badge and you will receive an email from Volunteer Services with next steps.<\/p>\n<p>Please allow 7-10 days in order for your shadow badge to be requested.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Application Phase We are excited to have you with us and look forward to a rich learning experience for all involved.
