Chair of the Department of Orthopaedics Speaker Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n Dr. Darrel S. Brodke is the Chair of the Department of Orthopaedics and holds the Jack and Hazel Robertson Presidential Endowed Professorship. He is a spine specialist focused on the improvement of pain and function for people with spinal disorders through both surgical and non-surgical treatments. He has particular expertise in the care of neck and back problems, including disc herniations, spinal stenosis, and degenerative conditions.<\/p>\n Dr. Brodke’s research interests have focused on spinal biomechanics, spinal deformity surgery treatments and patient reported outcomes. It is his aim to advance and improve care broadly through this work.<\/p>\n Dr. Brodke received his MD degree at the University of California, San Francisco, completed an Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Wisconsin, and a Fellowship in Spine Surgery at the University of Washington in Seattle.
