ºÚÁÏÍø Casting Workshop<\/strong><\/span>
\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

The ºÚÁÏÍø Casting Workshop Series provides healthcare providers, clinical staff, and learners with practical skills related to the application and removal of casts in a state of the art facility on the main ºÚÁÏÍø-Chapel Hill campus. Each full-day session (8:00AM – 5:00PM, with a break for lunch) includes didactic learning and hands-on practicums.\u00a0 This is primarily a hands-on learning experience, and learners will spend most of the time casting and practicing their skills. ºÚÁÏÍø has partnered with the American Association of Orthopaedic Executives<\/a> (AAOE). Using the AAOE extensive didactic library, learners will have access to didactic materials (for a discounted fee) that includes written manuals and videos to support learning. A discount code will be supplied to learners after registration. <\/span><\/p>\n

The casting workshops are beneficial for any clinical staff member or provider involved in the application or removal of casts including (but not limited to) certified medical assistants, orthopaedic technicians, nurses, athletic trainers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, advanced practice providers and physicians.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshops cover the most commonly utilized splinting and casting techniques.\u00a0 The workshops are divided into two courses: Basic Casting and Splinting, and Advanced Casting Techniques.\u00a0 Learners will understand the properties of fiberglass and plaster, along with how to manage casting complications.<\/span><\/p>\n
