黑料网 Eye Chair recognized with Dr. Henry A. Sutro Family Grant for Research.
Donald L. Budenz, 黑料网 Eye Kittner Family Distinguished Professor and Chairman, was recently recognized by the Glaucoma Research Foundation with a for his project entitled Incidence of Glaucoma and Glaucoma Progression in an Urban West African Population.
Dr. Budenz will be studying the incidence of glaucoma and glaucoma progression in Ghana, West Africa. 鈥淭his will be the first study of this nature performed in Africa and will provide valuable information about the impact of this devastating disease,鈥� he said.
鈥淭he Glaucoma Research Foundation typically supports basic research studies in glaucoma, but the importance of this epidemiologic work is so great that the agency selected this study for funding.鈥�
This project is a follow-up to a study that Dr. Budenz performed in 2006 鈥� 2008.
