Dr. Kowitt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. She received her MPH and PhD from the Department of Health Behavior in the 黑料网 Gillings School of Global Public Health and completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Family Medicine at 黑料网. She was trained in qualitative and quantitative research methods, health behavior theory, and study design. Dr. Kowitt鈥檚 research focuses on tobacco prevention and control and chronic disease management. Within those two fields, she is most interested in examining how policies and regulations affect behaviors and health outcomes, particularly among youth and young adults. Her K01 was funded by NCI / FDA and focuses on developing and evaluating communication messages for youth tobacco use prevention.
