Our work focuses on T cell-mediated autoimmunity with a particular interest in type 1 diabetes. Efforts involve defining the events driving the breakdown of self-tolerance within the T cell compartment as well as developing immunotherapies that selectively target the autoimmune response and reestablish long-term self-tolerance.
