This innovative program aims to spark groundbreaking research collaborations between JBME faculty and researchers from partner departments.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first of four planned events with an emphasis on the intersection of engineering with neuroscience and\/or rehabilitation. Other themes will be targeted in future rounds.<\/p>\n<h3>Date<\/h3>\n<p>November 7, 2024 (Register by Friday, 10\/25)<\/p>\n<h3>Time<\/h3>\n<p>5:00-7:30 pm; Food will be provided<\/p>\n<h3>Location<\/h3>\n<p>Mary Ellen Jones Building, Room 3116<\/p>\n<h3>Theme<\/h3>\n<p>Innovations in Neuroscience and Rehabilitation<\/p>\n<h3>Event Highlights<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lightning Talks:<\/strong> Quick pitches about cutting-edge research from BME, Neuroscience, and Rehabilitation faculty.<\/li>\n<li><strong>One-on-One Discussions<\/strong>: Engage in rapid-fire conversations to explore potential collaborations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding Opportunity<\/strong>: Develop ideas that could lead to pilot funding of $37,000 for your collaborative project!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Why Participate?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Expand Your Network<\/strong>: Meet potential collaborators from diverse research backgrounds.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ignite New Ideas<\/strong>: Combine your expertise with others to tackle complex biomedical challenges.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Secure Funding &amp; Boost Your Research:<\/strong> Top collaborations will be awarded substantial pilot funding to kickstart their projects and gather preliminary data for larger grant applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Who Should Attend?<\/h3>\n<p>Any faculty interested in interdisciplinary biomedical research who feel they could contribute at the intersection of BME and Neuroscience and\/or Rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<h3>How It Works<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Attend the event and participate in lightning talks and speed dating discussions.<\/li>\n<li>Find a collaborator(s) and develop a joint research idea.<\/li>\n<li>Submit a very brief 2-page proposal within two weeks after the event.
