April 23, 2021 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Please join us on Friday, April 23 at 12:30pm for the kickoff seminar and start of our Neurodegeneration Seminar Series. We will be holding monthly meetings (Fridays at 12:30pm), in which trainees and faculty present two 30-minute talks on their research.
Dr. Giulia Fragola will be the solo speaker this month. Her topic will be:
“Identification of environmental toxicants linked to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)”
Giulia Fragola, PhD, is a research associate for the Department of Neurology at -Chapel Hill. She received her PhD from Universitá degli studi di Milano in Italy and held a postdoctoral position at -Chapel Hill where she focused on the role of genomic instability in neurodegeneration and the development of CRISPR/Cas9-based therapies for neurological disorders. Her current work in Dr. Todd Cohen’s lab aims at understanding the underlying causes of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) with a focus on the effect of DNA damage and environmental factors in ALS pathogenesis.
