The AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) created the Kevin Robertson Memorial Award to honor 黑料网 neurologist Kevin Robertson, PhD, who died in June 2019 after a long battle with cancer.
Dr. Robertson was 鈥渦nflappable, persistent, and remarkably dedicated to his work,鈥� said Judith Currier, MD, MSc, chair of ACTG. The award honors investigators who 鈥渆xemplify Kevin鈥檚 compassion, collegiality, and commitment to junior investigators.鈥�
Currier presented the award to Serena Spudich, MD, professor of neurology and chief of Neurological Infections & Global Neurology at Yale University. Spudich said Robertson was the person who first encouraged her to join ACTG and later to serve as vice chair of its neurology committee. 鈥淗e believed in other people, he saw the best in other people,鈥� Spudich said. 鈥淗e had a graciousness, he respected and cared for everyone鈥檚 opinions, which is why he was such a successful investigator. Many of us felt like we had a special light shining on us from knowing Kevin.鈥�
