Congratulations to the Lab of , Assistant Professor, Cell Biology and Physiology, Center for Nanotechnology, for publishing paper, titled “Antioxidant Response Activating nanoParticles (ARAPas) localize to atherosclerotic plaque and locally activate the Nrf2 pathway” in Biomaterials Science, a journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
In this work, led by postdoctoral fellow S, they describe the synthesis and characterization of novel nanoparticles, termed Antioxidant Response Activating nanoParticles (ARAPas), that encapsulate with high efficiency the Nrf2 activator bardoxolone methyl. The ARAPas target sites of atherosclerotic plaque and activate Nrf2 in the aortic arch. The work and Dr. Bahnson will be featured in the “Emerging Investigator” series of Biomaterials Science and can be now.
