I am fortunate to have the privilege of serving as a teacher, clinician, and researcher in the Department of Medicine at ºÚÁÏÍø. I teach internal medicine residents principles of critical care medicine in the MICU, take care of patients with lung disease in our Sanford Pulmonary Clinic, and investigate the pathogenesis of asthma and other lung diseases in the Marsico Lung Institute.
What current project or initiative at ºÚÁÏÍø are you involved in that you are excited about?
From a clinical care perspective I am excited about the opportunity to provide pulmonary services to patients in south-central North Carolina in our Sanford outreach clinic, and the prospects for expanding services to a new Pittsboro location. From a research perspective I am excited about the potential of the Marsico Lung Institute to translate basic science discoveries into more effective therapies for patients afflicted with lung disease.
