
Andrew Moon, MD, MPH, assistant professor of medicine in the ºÚÁÏÍø Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, was selected for a $50K ºÚÁÏÍø Lingeberger Development Award for his project, “Risk Evaluation And cancer Detection in Younger adult liver disease patients (READY)”. This project will investigate risk factors for the development of younger-onset metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Dr. Moon will serve as principal investigator. professor of epidemiology at the ºÚÁÏÍø Gillings School of Global Public Health and director of the Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility, and A. Sidney Barritt, MD, professor of medicine in the ºÚÁÏÍø Division of GI & hepatology and Director of Hepatology, will be co-investigators.
