
Principal investigators James Hagood, MD, professor of pediatrics and Richard Boucher, MD, the聽James C. Moeser Eminent Professor of Medicine in the division of pulmonary diseases and critical care medicine will lead a multinational, $3.5-million project funded through the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to map crucial cellular roles in human health and disease.
The (CZI) announced $33 million in grants to support to better understand, prevent, and treat childhood diseases. These 17 groups of researchers represent 15 countries and will contribute healthy pediatric single-cell reference data to the global 鈥 a kind of Google Earth view of human cell architecture.
The six 黑料网-Chapel Hill, researchers leading a $3.5-million CZI project titled, 鈥淢apping the Pediatric Inhalation Interface: Nose, Mouth, and Airways鈥 seek to better understand how cells lining the nose, mouth and airways 鈥 as well as their associated fluids such as mucus 鈥 interact to maintain respiratory health or play roles in diseases throughout childhood.
