The inaugural cohort will have 20 participants.<\/p>\n<p>Department heads and supervisors can nominate staff on their teams <a href=\"https:\/\/unc.az1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_38W1oLCbqKCK8No\">using this form<\/a>. The nomination period for the first cohort is May 15 &#8211; June 16, and the nomination form will be live and available on May 15.<\/p>\n<p>Nominated employees must be full-time permanent employees for at least one year. If the employee currently serves in a supervisory role, they must have no more than one year of experience in a leadership position.<\/p>\n<p>Additional criteria include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regularly exceeds expectations on performance reviews<\/li>\n<li>Serves as a valuable teammate with leadership potential<\/li>\n<li>Will be engaged in group sessions and add perspective as a cohort member<\/li>\n<li>Be available to attend eight monthly sessions onsite with 100% attendance\n<ul>\n<li>8 &#8211; 11 a.m. on the second Thursday of the month from September through April, breakfast included<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>During the program, participants will learn about topics including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Self assessment<\/li>\n<li>Leading teams<\/li>\n<li>Moving from a peer role to a leadership role<\/li>\n<li>Relational leadership<\/li>\n<li>Academic healthcare finance and reporting<\/li>\n<li>Handling difficult conversations<\/li>\n<li>Bias<\/li>\n<li>Tme management and delegation<\/li>\n<li>Wellness<\/li>\n<li>Quality mindset and process improvement<\/li>\n<li>Communication and presentation skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The School of Medicine has launched Pathways, a program that will retain and prepare potential staff leaders for success.
