The (IHI) offers IHI Open School, online courses that teach the foundations of improvement, safety, system design and leadership. IHQI strongly recommends IHI’s Open School courses as they offer exceptional content and are very well-produced.Ìý

IHI Open School is free to faculty, residents and students. Follow the instructions below to access free courses on IHI: Ìý

  1. Begin by navigating to theÌý.Ìý
  1. Click on ‘My IHI‘ in the upper right-hand corner of the webpage to log in or create a new account.Ìý
  1. Once directed to the IHI Portal, hover over ‘Education‘ and click on ‘Education Platform‘.ÌýÌý
  1. To access Open School courses, click on ‘Go to your Learning Center‘.Ìý
  1. Search for the course you would like to take.ÌýÌýfor a list of Open School Basic Certificate courses as well as additional courses that IHI provides. In order to enroll in courses, please the one-time code 79041 (once this code is entered, you will be able to access all courses listed in the link above).ÌýÌý

TheÌýthree-course, nine credit-hour program adopts a flipped classroom model, with asynchronous lectures, readings, podcasts, and video, blended with in-person weekend project-based learning. The courses are:

  • Design Thinking for the Public Good
  • Implementation and Equity
