Factors that could be considered include prerequisite knowledge for the course(s) in which the student wishes to enroll and the student\u2019s overall performance in the program. This decision may be made in consultation with the Graduate School, the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office, Accessibility Resources and Service, or other University offices depending on the grounds for the appeal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n        \n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"panel panel-default oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n    <div id=\"panel-heading-details-0-2\" class=\"panel-heading oscitas-bootstrap-container\" role=\"tab\">\n\n        <h4 class=\"panel-title oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n            <button class=\"accordion-toggle oscitas-bootstrap-container collapsed\" \n                id = \"button-details-0-2\"\n                data-toggle=\"collapse\"\n                data-parent=\"#unc-accordion-0\"    \n                aria-controls=\"#details-0-2\"  \n                aria-expanded=\"false\" \n                href=\"#details-0-2\">\n                Policy on Prohibited Discrimination, Harassment and Related Misconduct            <\/button>\n\n        <\/h4>\n\n    <\/div>\n\n    <div id=\"details-0-2\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse  oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n        <div class=\"panel-body oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eoc.unc.edu\/our-policies\/ppdhrm\/\">Policy on Prohibited Discrimination, Harassment and Related Misconduct<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University is committed to providing a safe, diverse, and equitable environment to all members of the Carolina community. This policy addresses acts that are contrary to these values. These acts include discrimination, harassment, sexual assault or sexual violence, interpersonal (relationship) violence, sexual exploitation, stalking, and retaliation.\u00a0Key points include (1) the Policy and the types of conduct the Policy prohibits, (2) how to report the incident and get help, and (3) what happens after a report is made.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n        \n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"panel panel-default oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n    <div id=\"panel-heading-details-0-3\" class=\"panel-heading oscitas-bootstrap-container\" role=\"tab\">\n\n        <h4 class=\"panel-title oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n            <button class=\"accordion-toggle oscitas-bootstrap-container collapsed\" \n                id = \"button-details-0-3\"\n                data-toggle=\"collapse\"\n                data-parent=\"#unc-accordion-0\"    \n                aria-controls=\"#details-0-3\"  \n                aria-expanded=\"false\" \n                href=\"#details-0-3\">\n                Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act (VAMA)            <\/button>\n\n        <\/h4>\n\n    <\/div>\n\n    <div id=\"details-0-3\" class=\"panel-collapse collapse  oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n\n        <div class=\"panel-body oscitas-bootstrap-container\">\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eoc.unc.edu\/our-policies\/state-and-federal-laws\/title-ix-and-vawa\/\">Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Title IX prohibits sex discrimination and sexual harassment. Sexual assault and sexual violence are forms of sexual or gender-based harassment that are prohibited by Title IX. This office supplements, but does not replace, the University\u2019s formal channels, such as the grievance policy.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/caps.unc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ºÚÁÏÍø Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>Counseling and Psychological Services provides therapy, psychiatry, referral and academic intervention services for ºÚÁÏÍø Chapel Hill students and post-doctoral fellows.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"autoid-a42nk\"><a href=\"https:\/\/americanindiancenter.unc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American Indian Center<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>The American Indian Center facilitates the inclusion of the American Indian peoples into the learning environment of the Carolina community. Offers scholarships for American Indian students, conducts community outreach, and researches the history of American Indian peoples.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"autoid-jyd4v\"><a href=\"https:\/\/womenscenter.unc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carolina Women\u2019s Center<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>The Carolina Women&#8217;s center offers educational programming about interpersonal violence\u00a0and issues of gender equity.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"autoid-yjxn3\"><a href=\"http:\/\/isss.unc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Student and Scholar Services<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>The International Student and Scholar Services office offers counseling services for foreign students and scholars including personal advising and cross-cultural adjustment.<\/p>\n<h4 id=\"autoid-6x7y7\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lgbtq.unc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LGBTQ Center<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>The LGBTQ Center supports a safe inclusive environment for ºÚÁÏÍø-Chapel Hill students of all sexualities, gender identities, and gender expressions. The Center also provides support when reporting instances of interpersonal violence\u00a0to medical, legal, or University staff.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/clc.unc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Carolina Latinx Center<\/a><\/h4>\n<p>The Carolina Latinx Center provides a supportive environment for students, faculty, staff and alumni to discuss and understand important issues that affect the Latinx community.
