The (SEMPA) has named Janelle Bludorn, a clinical assistant professor in the Physician Assistant Studies program, as its vice president for 2020-2021.

According to its website, the society strives to advance, protect, and promote the role of emergency medicine PAs through education, advocacy, collaboration and research. Previously, Bludorn has served on SEMPA’s board of directors and as a director at large.
As vice president, Bludorn aims to address three goals in order to advance the profession: the social and political landscape of emergency medicine, education, and technology and modern media.
Paul Chelminski, director of the PA program, said Bludorn represents the program well.
鈥淛anelle鈥檚 national leadership and successful advocacy for the PA profession has been recognized at a national level. This is another milestone as the 黑料网 PA program achieves nationwide recognition.鈥�
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Bludorn, a native of rural South Dakota, practices emergency medicine at 黑料网 Hospitals Chapel Hill and Hillsborough campuses.

Janelle Bludorn, MS, PA-C, was named North Carolina Physician Assistant of the Year in 2018. She is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine’s PA program.
