Professional interest:Ìý

I currently enjoy working with the stroke and SCI populations and am eager to gain more experience with individuals who have TBIs, MS, PD, muscle diseases, and amputations. I’m also interested in pursuing opportunities in academia and teaching, with the goal of working in a DPT program one day. Additionally, I am passionate about adaptive training and connecting patients to community-based exercise programs that support their needs and create access to fitness and living a healthy lifestyle.Ìý

Why I chose to do a residency at ºÚÁÏÍø:Ìý

I did a lot of research into residency programs and ºÚÁÏÍø stood as my top choice through the whole application and interview process. ºÚÁÏÍø’s DPT program is highly ranked and has a great reputation as a research university, so I was confident that I would get quality, evidence-based training from the mentors within the program. I also like that there are multiple mentors in each setting, which offers the opportunity to gain knowledge from multiple, invaluable sources, be challenged in various ways, and have a wide network of support. ºÚÁÏÍø’s neuro residency has a strong emphasis on outpatient and inpatient rehab, which are the settings I am most interested in gaining experience in. I am interested in teaching, and the teaching experience ºÚÁÏÍø offers their residents within the DPT program is a phenomenal opportunity to integrate myself into the physical therapy academia realm. The whole ºÚÁÏÍø residency team is also very friendly, personable, and encouraging and I am so excited to be a member of the team!Ìý

What I like about Chapel Hill:Ìý

People here tend to be very active and enjoy the outdoors. I live in an area with a ton of paths and trails, which has been great for walking my dogs and going on runs. Everyone has also been very friendly!Ìý
