ºÚÁÏÍø DPT Exploratory Day
The ºÚÁÏÍø Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) Exploratory Program aims to extend our reach to applicants and students who are from groups who are underrepresented within the physical therapy profession, first-generation college students, and those interested in serving in underserved or rural areas of North Carolina.ÌýParticipants will gain insight from current ºÚÁÏÍø DPT students and faculty, experience a lecture on foundational topics in physical therapy education, acquire helpful information to assist with applying to a PT program, and participate in other professional development activities.

Program Details
The one-day program will consist of informational and educational sessions and panels to provide insight into the physical therapy profession, the admissions process, and what to expect as a physical therapy student.
Join us on April 12, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Bondurant Hall at ºÚÁÏÍø’s School of Medicine. There is no cost to attend the program. Lunch will be provided.
Eligibility
- Undergraduate student at an accredited university or college OR Graduate of an accredited university or college
- Fulfill at least one of the following:
- Underrepresented minority
- First-generation college student
- Economically disadvantaged
- Interested in serving in underserved or rural areas

- What is the attire? Business casual.
- Can I attend the ºÚÁÏÍø DPT Exploratory Day if I’ve previously attended the event? No, this program is for individuals who have not previously participated in the past ºÚÁÏÍø DPT Exploratory Day events.
- Can I bring a friend or family member?ÌýNo, due to the limited number of spots for the program, only prospective physical therapy students are invited to participate.
- Is there a virtual option?ÌýNo, there is not a virtual option, however we offer virtual and in-person information sessions during the summer (May-July) and dates will be released closer to the end of the spring semester.
- Is parking available on campus?ÌýYes, free weekend parking is available on campus in theÌý and . Detailed information related to transportation and parking will be provided closer to the event
