Katelynn Roark graduated from NC State with her degree in Chemistry, with minors in Environmental Science and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. During undergrad, she spent much of her time in the school system, teaching both science education and English to students. Upon graduation she received an English Teaching Assistantship as a part of the Fulbright Program, where she taught English in South Korea for a year.

Currently, she is working in multiple training roles as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Berg Lab as she prepares to apply to Genetic Counseling programs. Katelynn is helping to coordinate the Rare Disease Project with PPMH as well as working with the MPS Center doing EHR phenotyping work. She is also performing ClinGen biocuration work which is focused on lysosomal storage diseases and other inborn errors of metabolism. In her free time, Katelynn volunteers at Planned Parenthood, enjoys being in nature with her dogs, and going to the movies!
