Dr. Jenny PY Ting (William R. Kenan Jr. Distinguished Professor of Genetics) has been recognized by 黑料网 Chapel Hill with the Mentor Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Dr. Yuliya Pylayeva-Gupta (Associate Professor, Genetics and Member, 黑料网 Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center) has received the 2022 Mark Foundation for Cancer Research 鈥淓merging Leader Award鈥� for her project titled 鈥淩eprogramming B cell fate and function in cancer鈥�.聽

Four Genetics faculty members have been named among the world鈥檚 most highly cited researchers in their respective fields for 2021.

Dr. Jason Stein has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Genetics, effective January 1, 2022.

As part of the聽Forward Together聽Strategic Plan, the 黑料网 committed $100,000 this year to fund pilot neuroscience research projects through the NeuroSpark event.
