In addition, we support community involvement activities in preventive medicine, medical skills enhancement, and leadership roles for students wishing to be involved in primary care. Furthermore, we provide an opportunity to learn more about the opportunities available in the field of family medicine. The Healer\u2019s Art course provides support for first- and second year (but is open to all years) medical students in recognizing, valuing, and preserving the human dimension of health care. Students and faculty participate together in a discovery model. The process-based curriculum enables students to appreciate the personal and universal meaning of medicine, in their daily lives!<\/p>\n<p>The 15-hour elective course for students consists of 5 evening sessions. Each three-hour session is divided into a large-group and small-group experience.<\/p>\n<p>Small groups are facilitated by physicians recruited from medical school faculty and the community practice. Each session builds upon the insights and content of the previous session.
