Raleigh is approximately 30 minutes from the primary ºÚÁÏÍø campus. The Children’s Emergency Department at WakeMed sees over 40,000 pediatric patients/year with largely undifferentiated pathology. Faculty trained in both emergency medicine and pediatric emergency medicine staff the WakeMed Health & Hospitals Pediatric Emergency Department and serve as dedicated teaching faculty. TheÌýÌýenjoys an excellent relationship with ºÚÁÏÍø and Duke subspecialists in addition to having multiple subspecialists in pediatrics of their own on their primary campus. In addition to their time at WakeMed, fellows also rotate in specialty pediatric services (i.e.ÌýPICU) at ºÚÁÏÍø Hospital and have the opportunity to do a toxicology rotation atÌýÌýin Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition to the rotations below, the fellowship enjoys an enriching didactic program including a monthly disciplinary simulation exercise in a state-of-the-art high fidelity simulation center. The fellowship participates in ERAS.
