黑料网 Emergency Medicine Associate Professor Christina Shenvi teamed up with Dr. Brittany Ellis (University of Saskatchewan) and published the book, with content contributions from 黑料网 Emergency Medicine Drs. Daniel Markwalter, Martin Casey, and Susie Kennedy.

Some of the key topics discussed include:

  • Emergency Department (ED) workup of falls in older adults
  • Evaluation of frailty in the ED
  • Team-based/multi-disciplinary care in the ED
  • Evaluation of head injury in the ED
  • Acute pain management of older adults

The book also covers particularly relevant topics including elder abuse, mental health emergencies in the elderly, capacity determinations, geri-specific aspects of pulmonary/respiratory emergencies, ED boarding and geriatric patients, and deprescribing in the ED.

“We gathered expert authors from around the U.S. and Canada to write articles on core topics such as falls, head injury, and medication management,鈥 said Dr. Shenvi.
