{"id":4023,"date":"2022-05-16T09:41:39","date_gmt":"2022-05-16T13:41:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/crso\/?p=4023"},"modified":"2022-05-18T11:31:32","modified_gmt":"2022-05-18T15:31:32","slug":"important-notification-change-to-covid-screening-requirements-for-participants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.med.unc.edu\/crso\/2022\/05\/important-notification-change-to-covid-screening-requirements-for-participants\/","title":{"rendered":"Important Notification: Change to COVID Screening Requirements for Participants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear SOM Clinical Research Community,<\/p>\n<p>To maintain alignment with operations and policies of ºÚÁÏÍø Health, the SOM will no longer require study personnel to conduct and document COVID screening for research participants.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, the study team shall ask participants to conduct a self-screening assessment prior to any in-person visit. If a participant screens positive, they shall be asked not to enter any campus or hospital facility and contact the study team to discuss rescheduling or other alternatives (e.g. remote visit).<\/p>\n<p>Self-screening shall include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cough<\/li>\n<li>Fever or feverish feeling<\/li>\n<li>Shortness of breath<\/li>\n<li>Shaking with chills<\/li>\n<li>Loss of taste or smell<\/li>\n<li>Vomiting or diarrhea<\/li>\n<li>Sore throat<\/li>\n<li>A positive COVID test within the last 10 day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>General guidelines for continuing research in the context of COVID-19 as maintained by OVCR may be reviewed here: <a href=\"https:\/\/research.unc.edu\/covid-19\/resuming\/all\/\">https:\/\/research.unc.edu\/covid-19\/resuming\/all\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Sincerely,<\/p>\n<p>SOM CRSO<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear SOM Clinical Research Community, To maintain alignment with operations and policies of ºÚÁÏÍø Health, the SOM will no longer require study personnel to conduct and document COVID screening for research participants.
