Multispectral Optoacoustic Tomography (MSOT): Recent Applications and Technological Developments
Optoacoustics is an emerging field of biomedical imaging. Multispectral Optoacoustic Tomography (MSOT) is a powerful molecular imaging technology which provides optical contrast at depth. It provides the capacity to separate endogenous chromophores such as oxy-/deoxy-haemoglobin, melanin, lipids and collagen, as well as extrinsically administered agents including nanoparticles and fluorescent dyes. With a focus on new developments in the field, this presentation will cover both technology as well as research driven applications. Areas of research will include cancer, anatomical and functional neurology, inflammation , kinetics, nanotechnology and probe development.
