Research Summary
Dr. Long is a formally trained epidemiologist, clinical researcher, program director, and clinician. Her primary research and clinical interests include studies of IBD, including both Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). This includes patient centered outcomes research and comparative effectiveness and safety research, as well as studies of the epidemiology and utilization of resources in patients with IBD. She is the co-principal investigator of the PREVENT-COVID cohort of over 3500 patients with IBD who received COVID-19 vaccination. She also participates in numerous industry and foundation sponsored cohort studies and clinical trials as site principal investigator. She currently serves as co-director of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation Clinical Research Alliance (CRA) and has expertise in implementation of investigator-initiated studies. She is also a current Co-Editor in Chief of the American Journal of Gastroenterology.
