Audra Bryan PhD, a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Jill Dowen's lab, was awarded "Best Postdoc Talk" at聽The Department of Genetics, GMB, and BCB Scientific Retreat and "Best Postdoc Poster Presentation" at the聽Lineberger Postdoc-Faculty Research Day.

Our 2022 retreat was held at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham on October 21 which included departmental talks, posters, a Carer and DEI panel, and other fun activities which made for an engaging and exciting day at the museum. Our Keynote speaker was Dr. Mary Munson.

On October 14, 2022, the department of Biochemistry and Biophysics gathered on the Genetic Medicine building lawn to enjoy food, fellowship, games, and painting pumpkins.
