Congratulations to Research Associate Sook-Kyung Lee from the Swanstrom Lab who received a R21 grant from National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Sook-Kyung Lee has received a 2 year R21 grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The grant title is 鈥淣ew and Simple Assay to Measure Latent HIV Reservoir Using Deep Sequencing Method鈥
Sook-Kyung Lee is currently a research associate in the lab of , professor of Biochemistry and Biophysics. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Wei-Shau Hu in the HIV Drug Resistance Program at National Cancer Institute in Frederick, Maryland. Dr. Lee鈥檚 research focuses on uncovering resistance pathways to Darunavir-based potent HIV-1 protease inhibitors using deep sequencing method, developing an assay to accurately measure the latent HIV-1 reservoir, and developing a method to enhance the induction efficiency of HIV-1 proviruses in resting CD4+ T cells.
