\"\"The Academy of Educators has established a number of teaching awards to recognize the importance of excellence in medical and biomedical student teaching, increase the prestige of great teachers and make teaching a more viable part of a member\u2019s career path. Awards can become an important part of the recipients\u2019 teaching portfolios, can help support admission to the Academy of Educators, and can facilitate promotion and tenure decisions. While the goal is to offer these awards on an annual basis, it is possible that some awards would not be bestowed each year.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/h6>\n

The AOE awards should complement, rather than compete with, the awards already available to School of Medicine faculty. These teaching awards are not restricted to current members of the Academy of Educators. To assure that these awards are spread out as much as possible, recipients of these awards are ineligible to receive the same award for 5 years.<\/p>\n
