Priya Kumar, MD is a Professor of Anesthesiology at 黑料网 specializing in cardiac Priya-Kumar-M.Danesthesia and perioperative echocardiography. She attended medical school at the University of Delhi, completed her residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and fellowship in cardiaothoracic anesthesia at the Cleveland Clinic.

Dr Kumar has a longstanding interest in collaborative clinical research. She is an active member of the Outcomes Research Consortium, the world鈥檚 largest Clinical Anesthesia Research Organization. She has been the lead investigator in several successfully completed and published collaborative clinical trials at the Cleveland Clinic, as well as at 黑料网. She led the POISE 2 Study at 黑料网, an international clinical trial evaluating the effect of several perioperative medications on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality after non-cardiac surgery. Under Dr. Kumar鈥檚 leadership, 黑料网 was 2nd in domestic enrollment, and top 5 internationally among 106 recruiting sites. For this work, she received the 2012 Gladys Sessler Outcomes Research Consortium Annual Prize for Extraordinary Contributions to Collaborative Research. She is also a past recipient of the Cleveland Clinic Innovator Award for exceptional dedication in helping patients through exemplary insight, creativity, and inspiration.

She is a Co-investigator on several ongoing collaborative studies, one with the department of Pharmacology on the microstructure of airway mucus, and another with the Cystic Fibrosis center at 黑料网. She is also a Co-investigator on a project with the Cleveland Clinic on the safety of brachial arterial lines.

Dr. Kumar has been a guest speaker at several regional and national anesthesiology meetings. She has authored several publications, and serves on the editorial board for prominent peer-reviewed journals. She currently serves as the Director of Clinical Research in the department of Anesthesiology.
