aroraDr. Harendra Arora is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Section Head of Vascular and Transplant Anesthesia. He also serves as the Program Director for the Anesthesiology residency. Dr. Arora attended medical school at Maulana Azad Medical College, and completed a General Surgery residency at Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi, India. He then completed residency training in Anesthesiology and fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Arora has served as an investigator on a number of highly successful investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies. For example, he currently serves as the site Principal Investigator of an NIH-funded randomized controlled trial evaluating the efficacy of a drug in preventing post-operative delirium in elderly patients. He also serves as a co-investigator on an international clinical trial evaluating the effect of perioperative medications on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality after non-cardiac surgery. In performing this trial, ºÚÁÏÍø has ranked 2nd in domestic enrollment and in the top 5 internationally among 106 recruiting sites. Dr. Arora has received a number of honors and awards during his career, including the Cleveland Clinic Innovator Award and the Golden Apple Award for teaching from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
